After completing the Dragonfly, I decided to also create a very similar car for it to race beside. After adding and removing specific details and altering the materials, I created the Mantis.

This project required a lot of time and experimentation. Most models that I had built up to this point are symmetrical in one way or another, making modeling quite simple, but a car has so many curves and dips that I spent many hours molding and shaping each piece. After several days of work the Dragonfly was completed.

I could not help myself. After I built the Light VCV I just had to continue with more of my VCV obsession. I drew out new plans and then constructed the Heavy VCV in 3DS Max. Just as I did with the Light VCV, I rigged the model and used the animation in several projects down the line.

It is time to come clean. I have an obsession for mechs, VCV, Vertical Tanks, or whatever you would like to call them. After much drawing and planning I took my sketches and created my first VCV in 3D. I later rigged the model and animated him walking and shooting. I used this model for many different projects down the line as well.

This is by far one of the largest 3D projects that I have ever undertaken so far. I worked with David Hilmer to recreate Agrabah from the Disney movie Aladdin. He worked on the palace while I built the 2 million poly city. The render times for this project were staggering, on average it took ten minutes a frame.

My fascination with architecture led me to create some of my own buildings. I constructed two city buildings, a parking garage, a parking lot, and a sky scraper. I chose to render with a soft white texture for the buildings and a stunning blue reflective surface for the glass.

The Bungie game Halo has always been a favorite of mine. After learning proper box modeling techniques I unleashed my new-found skills on the weapons of Halo 2. In building these weapons, I also built my understanding of box modeling and how very important it is to keep the poly count low for game models.

During a character modeling class I was given the task to create a 3D character of my choice. Aiming high I decided to construct Master Chief from the Halo series. This is by far the most complex and detailed model I have ever created so far. Master Chief is made up of over 165 boxes that have been carefully molded into the necessary piece. This technique of modeling is referred to as Box Modeling.

I chose to create a pool table for an animation class so that I might practice animating a pool break. The table and cues were quite easy to model once the groundwork was done, but the materials took some time so that they would appear as realistic as possible.

I constructed this log cabin chair for a short film that a friend of mine was helping me produce. I spent plenty of time studying the correct method for adding wood grain to a model to truly give it that mountain look. The cushion also required new modifiers to be applied to give it the right texture.
