At the request of a current client I have jumped into designing and developing Youtube Channels. Once I created a Youtube template I built a design around that and began to implement. The Youtube Channel flexibility is quite restricted, but I understand Youtube doesn't want horribly designed Youtube Channels everywhere, so they limit what you can effect. I had a few hang ups with the project, but once I did my homework the pieces fell in place. http://www.youtube.com/bigfootbubba

A famous hot spot for great food and live entertainment in Hawaii has requested I develop their website. Once I was handed the PSD I hit the ground running. This site had a few tricky areas that required some special code, but overall this project went smoothly. The client asked for an easy way to update their Entertainment and Calendar pages. The solution I chose was to use ICE from Adobe. They are thrilled with the final product which you can see here: charleysmaui.com

David Hilmer, a long time friend and partner of mine, decided it was time to redesign his website. He sketched out the design and we discussed the new functionality the website would have. One major goal was to provide him with the ability to easily update his portfolio. Once he had completed the design I developed the site to his specifications. He loves the site and also how easy it is to update. davidhilmer.com

Through ER Design, a new contact I have acquired, I began developing a Flash Header that would incorporate a site's navigation, images, and FLVs. The project took several revisions as the client continued to change their minds. Finally the end product was reached which you can view here: Flash Navigation. One of the tricks used in this Flash piece was creating a single swf file that would dynamically change based upon html variables that are passed in the site's html file. This way you only load one swf, but it's behavior will change based upon what variables are set on the html page.

cv704.com was way overdue for a complete overhaul. I took this project on as a personal site and handled the entire design and development process. I'm very pleased with the outcome and the client is ecstatic with the new design. More content will be added over time to beef up the pages, but the site is still quite pretty. cv704.com

The development of this site brought about difficult decisions. Where I typically PHP most of the site for connivence, I had to build with ICE in mind. ICE, where very useful, can often limit a developer in the techniques used. For those reading this and asking what in the world is ICE, you can find out more here: Adobe. The project was a good learning experience and now I know what I can and can't do when planning to implement ICE. Here is the link to ESBC: ESBCgreenville.org

An architect, of high quality work, needed a website developed. An outside contact handled the design work, then sent the PSD over so I could develop the site. The site is nothing flashy in the design, but quite simple and easy to navigate. After the site was constructed the only new tech I had to build for this design was a Java thumbnail loader. Constructing the Java was the easy part, but getting the CSS to work properly in all browsers was painful. I'm use to IE making my life miserable, but this time Microsoft had it out for me. After a hour of trying many code tricks I got it to work accordingly. The site can be viewed here: PDIArch.com

An independent film director came knocking at my best friend's door, davidhilmer.com, and asked for a low budget website. David being the excellent design artist he is, whipped up an excellent themed design for the client and then requested that I develop the site. thehillshavethighs.com. The site is quite basic, but I did get to adventure into ICE, InContext Editing, with this site. ICE is the newest client side editor that Dreamweaver CS4 brings to the table. To sum it up, it's a simplified version of Contribute, but all editing is done within the browser, no separate programs required. You can find out more here at: Adobe

This project turned out to be quite trying in many ways. Aside from the client being difficult to work with, I was forced to build in a fixed design. A fixed design is a site that is unable to grow in length due to the artist's ideas. Everything looks good in Photoshop, but that means very little when it comes to the web. Now understand I have no problem building it, I just get a twitch when I see fixed designs. Another sad reality to this project was that I couldn't use PHP due to their ASP.NET server. In the end the site got built and the client is happy, another happy ending. - businessonestop.biz

Morris Muzekari is a visionary when it comes to interior design. The website was designed by Muzekari and around designer. My role in this project was to develop, SEO, and PHP her website. This took a minimal amount of time, but was enjoyable since I used Thickbox to handle her portfolio. If you need an interior designer in Charleston, SC I would check out her site - morrismuzekari.com

Aardvark Interactive Studios requested that I build them a lengthy volunteer form for gcminc.org. I used a PHP script to handle gathering the information from the form and sending it off to the requested email address. One other snazzy feature that I added to the contact form is when a user submits the information an excel file is created with all the information organized into respected columns. The benefit of this feature is each time a user submits information, it is added to the existing excel document. This way the client can view all past and present information on submissions. The contact form has not been pushed live, but when it has I will post the link.

St. Jude Farms is an internationally known horse breeder of the finest European bloodlines. With a design of their website already in play my objective was to reconstruct their site using an organized and easily updatable PHP and CSS structure. The original developer used the PSD to Dreamweaver slice and dice method, where the entire site is made up of images, even the text. If you have not read before, I truly despise developers that use this technique. There is no instance where all text should be made from images! Enough venting, back to the project. I had no choice, but to scrap everything the first developer built and start anew. Now completed, new horses can be added to their site with the click of a button. Thank you PHP.

The twenty-fourth fastest growing company in America, as proclaimed by Inc. Magazine, has asked that I build them a new site. After scorching the earth, I began to design. Phoenix had no vision for their new site, other than wishing to discard the old. This freedom given to design as I please is truly a double edged sword. With my creativity allowed to run free I can design as I please, but yet with no guide lines my creation could be from anywhere between urban business to princess pony land. Finally having numerous conversations with Phoenix I discovered the design that were looking for, simple, yet modern. With designs completed, development began and passed quickly. Phoenix is thrilled with their new site, which means my work here is done. http://www.phoenix-transportation.net.

After being flooded with projects, I finally got time to finish building my personal MySpace page. I designed it months ago, but other projects took precedence. The page is Flash-based for the Media section and then HTML coded for the Friend & Comment sections. The final design and build can be seen here: http://www.myspace.com/Brought_To_Life.

James Doran Company, a major real estate development company, has requested that a site for their Daniel Island development. I was given the designs for the web site and developed the site using mostly HTML and some PHP. This project gave me practice, as most sites do, in creating a website with as few tables as possible. CSS is always the way to go! http://www.danielislanddowntown.com.

Anne is one of my favorite clients. She offered me the job of constructing her new site for UtopiaMarketing.com, which she and one designer envisioned. The layout features a simplistic design that enables a site with rich content to feel clean and comfortable. After a few days of coding, this site was pushed live in hopes of attracting more business. http://www.utopiamarketing.com.

This freelance job turned out to be a simple development job. The site was already designed by Utopia Marketing, so my role was to build the site through HTML, XML, and PHP. The website, http://www.sandraericksen.com, was straightforward in its design. A clean portfolio of Sandra's interior design work is the result of this development project.

The website, http://www.midlothiantowncenter.com, was straightforward in its design. I was asked by the client to build the site using all tables and image links. Zipit Wireless, once again in need of my services, has asked me to build them a Flash-based MySpace page to promote the Zipit 2. The final design and build can be seen here: http://www.myspace.com/ZipitWireless. I have never created a Flash-based MySpace page before, so this took some research on how to implement the Flash swf file into the MySpace template.

After much hard work of constructing with the hammer of Flash, CBrooks Hosting V2 is completed. You can visit the site at the following link: http://www.cbrookshosting.com/V2. This installment of CBrooks Hosting is 100% Flash driven. The desire for building this site was to improve my Flash-based skills and my understanding of the program.

Zipit needed a place for parents to control their kids' Zipit devices and also to gain information about the product. They already had a programmer on hand, so my role was to design and construct a HTML template the programmer could use as a sandbox, or work space. The key to this design was making the Parental Portal feel like an extension of their current site rather then something completely different. Once designed, the development of the sandbox was quite simple.

I have come across a client named Andy and he is in need of a website overhaul. I have taken his present site and corrected some of the wrongs done by the previous webmaster, made the site search engine friendly, added Google Analytics, and created descriptive METAs. I also created a new site for Andy, but that will not go live until later this year.

A large resort based in Myrtle Beach, SC came to me wanting a website for their property owners. This site needed to display information that was relative to the resort and the surrounding areas to keep the owners of Sands Beach Club up-to-date on current events. After collaborating with the resort board members I constructed this site for them: http://www.sbcowners.com.

The resort was unable to keep the website up to date, so they discontinued the site.

The new age problem of sharing photos and videos among family members has been somewhat resolved by MySpace and Facebook. But what if your parents or grandparents aren't computer savvy enough to use these sites? That is why I developed http://www.brooksmemories.com. This site allows me to quickly update a photo gallery of thousands of images and also upload videos with no problem. The site was designed for someone with very little website knowledge, just a simple point and click interface. And best of all the site is password protected, so only the people I specify can view the site.

Through a contact of mine I met a gentleman who needed to advertise his chalet, the Captain's Quarters in Gatlinburg, TN. The goal was to make a clean and simple layout that would display the highlights of his cabin and the surrounding areas in hopes to lure in more business. The site is comprised of one or two images of each room and several of the mountain view surrounding the chalet. After a few months of this site being live, the client emailed me to say his business has tripled thanks to the site. http://www.cv704.com

Unaira asked me to give their site a new look. I took their present content and created a graphically pleasing experience. The number one thing their site lacked before I stepped in was color. The site was all black and white except for their logo. I took the green color from their logo and immersed their site in it. The final result can be seen here: http://www.unaira.com.

Unfortunately problems within her company stopped her from moving forward with the project, so it was placed on hold until further notice.
